Attorney General Russell Coleman Visits Isaiah House’s Shelley Center

Tour highlights recovery success stories and impact of opioid abatement funding

HARRODSBURG, Ky. (June 24th, 2025) — Isaiah House Treatment Center was honored to welcome Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman to its Shelley Center in Harrodsburg for a tour and discussion on the power of recovery and the ongoing fight against addiction in the Commonwealth.

The visit included key leadership from the Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission. Among those accompanying General Coleman were Chair and Executive Director Chris Evans and Deputy Director Jessie Halladay.

“I left my visit to Isaiah House’s Shelley Center impressed and humbled by the hard work its clients are putting into their long-term recovery. Having the opportunity to speak with two mothers in recovery gave me a greater appreciation for those fighting to take back their lives. I commend them, as well as the dedicated Isaiah House team, for creating such a remarkable place,” said Attorney General Coleman. “I’m proud Kentucky’s Opioid Abatement Commission has partnered with Isaiah House—investing $500,000 in its lifechanging recovery programming—and I’m grateful for the chance to visit.”

Isaiah House is Kentucky’s largest non-profit, Christ-centered addiction recovery program, serving more than 3,000 Kentuckians each year. With a mission rooted in healing, opportunity, purpose, education and employment, the organization has been operating for over 25 years, providing long-term treatment through both residential and outpatient programs.

During the visit, Isaiah House Chief Executive Officer Nick Wren, Chief Development Officer Kara Ball and General Counsel and Director of Government Affairs Brian Privett led a tour of Isaiah House’s corporate offices and residential women’s facility. The Shelley Center campus is one of three residential locations operated by Isaiah House, which also includes multiple outpatient clinics and recovery housing beds across the state.

In 2023 and 2024, Isaiah House received funding through the Kentucky Opioid Abatement Commission to support two major projects. The first was the construction of the Recovery Life Center in Harrodsburg, a multipurpose space dedicated to education, outreach and recovery meetings. The second funded the organization’s expansion of recovery housing services in Louisville.

“We are grateful for the continued partnership and investment from the Attorney General’s Office and the Opioid Abatement Commission,” said Kara Ball. “These resources help make long-term recovery possible for men and women across the Commonwealth.”
