Brian Privett

General Counsel and Government Affairs Director, Isaiah House Treatment Center

Brian Privett is General Counsel and Government Affairs Director for Isaiah House. An attorney for 20 years in Central Kentucky, as both a general practice attorney with a wide range of clients and as a prosecutor in three jurisdictions, Brian witnessed real life lessons about the opioid crisis on the ground level in the court system. From 2018 to 2022, Brian took his passion for helping people achieve recovery and served as Circuit Judge for the 14th Judicial Circuit of Kentucky of Bourbon, Scott, and Woodford Counties. During his time as Judge, he served on the leadership team of the Kentucky Chief Justice’s RESTORE Initiative, was one of two Kentucky judges on the 8 state Regional Judicial Opioid Initiative ( RJOI), ran an innovate, jail-free, drug court that was awarded a SAMHSA grant in 2019, and implemented the first Recovery Oriented Court System in the state (KyROCS).

Brian has long been involved in the recovery community in Central and Eastern Kentucky. He has been a speaker at recovery events in Kentucky and conferences in several states, including his co-presentation, Incorporating Entrepreneurial Opportunities and Leadership Development as Effective Models of Treatment, in 2023 at the RX and Illicit Drug Summit, and the East Coast and Cape Cod Symposiums, among others.

A native of Corbin, Brian lives in Paris, Kentucky with his two daughters. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville School of Law.
