Dr. Antonio Booker Joins Isaiah House as Director of Pharmacy Operations

Louisville native brings clinical expertise and Christ-centered vision to expanding recovery care.

HARRODSBURG, KY (June 5th, 2025) – Isaiah House Treatment Center is proud to welcome Dr. Antonio Booker as its new director of pharmacy operations. A Louisville native and experienced pharmacy leader, Booker brings more than a decade of experience to the role, along with a deep personal commitment to holistic, Christ-centered care.

“This just seemed like a really good opportunity to come and challenge myself personally, but also challenge myself spiritually and grow,” Booker said. “The mission of Isaiah House is second to none.”

Booker holds a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky and a master’s certificate in gerontology. His professional background includes leadership roles in retail pharmacy, infusion therapy and federally qualified health centers.

Now, his vision at Isaiah House goes far beyond dispensing medications.

“Our primary focus is to service our Phase 1 through 4 clients, and that will always be the mission,” he said. “But I want our patients that graduate the program to know they will always have a pharmacy home at Isaiah House.”

Representation in the field is also deeply personal for Booker, whose first opportunity in pharmacy came through one of the few Black male pharmacists he has ever known.

“There are very few of us,” he said. “Only 9 percent of the registered pharmacists in the United States are Black, and less than 40 percent of those are men.”

Nick Wren, CEO of Isaiah House and a former pharmacy school classmate of Booker’s, said the decision to bring him on board was a natural one.

“Dr. Booker brings not only a wealth of clinical expertise, but also a deep commitment to community health,” said Wren. “This makes him the ideal leader to launch this critical new initiative in our mission to serve those battling addiction and seeking a life in recovery.”

For Booker, success means more than filling prescriptions. It means providing long-term support for people working to rebuild their lives.

“They’re not going to just be another prescription to meet a metric or meet a goal,” he said. “They’re going to have people that are dedicated to their holistic care. I want them to have a home at Isaiah House forever.”

“Slowly, I Return”

I lost myself in noise and speed,
In chasing things I didn’t need.
But now I walk a softer lane —
One stitched with peace instead of pain.

I don’t arrive in grand display,
I show up gently, day by day.
A breath, a step, a choice to stay —
That’s how I find my healing way.

No need for loud, no need for race,
Just learning how to hold my space.
And every time I chose to learn,
A part of me begins to turn.
