Jennifer Lay radiates warmth and compassion, embodying the values of love, service, and faith in every aspect of her life. As a dedicated member of the Isaiah House Board of Directors, Jennifer brings her unwavering commitment to helping those in need and her passion for making a positive impact on the community.

A loving wife to Delbert Lay, mother of two and grandmother of three, Jennifer’s family holds a special place in her heart. Her role as a wife, mother, sister to six siblings, and friend to all she meets reflects her deep capacity for connection and her genuine love for others.

From a young age, Jennifer demonstrated a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. Introduced to the world of business by her mother at the age of 14 through an Avon book, she quickly embraced the opportunity to earn and share her earnings. Her journey into education later in life showcases her resilience and determination to pursue her dreams despite obstacles, earning her Bachelor’s degree at 39 and embarking on a fulfilling career in teaching.

With a Master’s in Leadership and a Rank 1 in Reading & Writing Specialist, Jennifer dedicated 20 years of her career to teaching students with special needs, leaving an enduring impact on their lives through her dedication and compassion. Upon retirement in 2021, Jennifer’s commitment to service only intensified, leading her to join Transform Scott County as a volunteer in 2021.

As the Poverty Alleviation Coordinator for Circles Scott County, Jennifer plays a vital role in empowering individuals to break the cycle of poverty and achieve self-sufficiency. Her leadership and empathy guide participants on a journey of transformation, offering hope and support every step of the way.
