My Why: From White Sheep to Servant of Purpose
Addiction has touched every corner of my family. For years, I tried to be the “white sheep;” the one who broke the cycle, who proved that generational change was possible. But somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn’t trying to prove anything. I was being prepared to serve a God I didn’t yet know.
Though I had moments where I dipped my toe into faith, it was Isaiah House that changed everything. It was here I encountered the core values of CHRIST, Compassion, Humility, Respect, Integrity, Stewardship, and Team-Oriented service. These aren’t just words, and when I walked through those doors, I felt it in my spirit: I was home.
God didn’t just give me a job, He gave me a mission. My soul was compelled. And when I look at my own values, they mirror Isaiah House’s exactly. That’s not coincidence. That’s confirmation. I’m not the author of this story; I’m just the feet walking it out.
My Calling: Dentistry as a Ministry
I stumbled into dentistry over 12 years ago, not knowing it would become my life’s calling. Dentistry is my forte; but more than that, it’s my ministry. I’ve worked in numerous roles throughout public health, private practice, mobile and corporate dentistry. That exposure gave me a comprehensive understanding of the field. This diverse experience taught me how to operate in every role, from chairside care to strategic leadership.
But one challenge has followed me throughout my career: I’m a dental hygienist, not a dentist. That meant I had to earn trust the hard way, through data, performance, and persistence. I had to prove that I could lead, innovate, and deliver results. And at Isaiah House, someone finally said yes.
Breaking Ground: A First-of-Its-Kind Dental Program
At Isaiah House, I was entrusted to spearhead the first internal dental department within a substance use treatment facility. This wasn’t just a new program; it was a movement. We built it from the ground up, with a vision to serve the most overlooked population in healthcare: those in recovery.
Why? Because I believe this population is most deserving of second chances. And I believe dentistry is a critical and often missing piece of the holistic recovery journey.
We’re proven that when you invest in someone’s smile, you invest in their confidence, dignity, and long-term sobriety. Dental care will reduce walk-offs, increase program retention, and support long-term recovery. We are building the data to back it. The stories to confirm it. And the smiles prove it.

Scaling the Vision: From One Center to a Movement
This isn’t just about Isaiah House. It’s about redefining recovery care across the region. We’re launching a mobile dental unit to reach more facilities. We’re creating a Patient Assistance Fund to ensure no one is denied care due to cost. And we’re building partnerships, not competition, with other addiction centers.
My vision is bold, like me! I want Isaiah House to become the dental home for every substance use disorder center in our geographic area. To unite our community around healing, not hierarchy. To prove that dentistry changes lives, and that recovery deserves nothing less than excellence.
How You Can Help: Join the Movement
We’re seeking donors, sponsors, and partners who believe in second chances and the power of a smile. Your support helps us:
– Provide life-changing dental care to those in recovery.
– Equip our mobile unit to reach underserved communities.
– Restore dignity, one smile at a time.
Final Word: This Is Holy Ground
This isn’t just a job. It’s a calling. And every time I see a patient smile… like really smile, I’m reminded that God is in the business of restoration. He’s using dentistry, of all things, to heal hearts, rebuild lives, and break generational chains.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your support makes a difference, let me assure you, it does.
Because behind every restored smile is a restored soul.
